My muse has been fairly quiet recently and my life had been undergoing a bunch of changes (new job, preparing to apply for grad school, etc). Now that things have settled down a bit, I will be getting back to writing. I am currently in the middle of writing a new chapter for Awkward. I haven't decided if I will check back in with NarutoContest so I can participate in weekly writing exercises again. I probably will, but I'm still working on my own original story in the sidelines.

Just after I got off the phone with a friend tonight, I thought I'd give my many fish one last snack. When I put the food in, one of my new pretty blue fish didn't go after the food. I tapped the glass near him (the blue guys are spastic), but he didn't move. He was dead.

My roommate gave me hug. I felt a bit better.

Now he's in the freezer.

Tears to Tiara - looks good as long as it doesn't turn into a harem anime (1 episode seen)
07 Ghost - love the manga, hope the anime lives up to its awesome-ness (although it does have some yaoi undertones).
FMA 2 "Brotherhood" - because who doesn't love the Elric brothers?
Hanasakeru Seishounen - I stumbled across this one. Looks interesting so far (1 episode), I'll keep you posted. Slice of Life with strong female lead. Interesting characters and back story.

I may add or subtract to this list (probably both) as the season progresses.

It is colored version of a sketch I had posted on DeviantArt awhile ago. It is of Ahiru(Duck) and Fakir from Princess Tutu. I think of it as a kind of indirect kiss, but you are welcome to interpret however you want. It is an AU scene from after the end of the anime. While not directly related, it has actually inspired a fanfiction I am working on for PT.

A Day in the Park

As Chouji continued on to safety, Kakashi’s life flashed before his eyes. He had a few last thoughts.

He always regretted that he had never told Rin that he loved her, even if she hadn’t felt the same. He could leap into a long and bloody battle without hesitation, but telling her how he felt had scared him to death. After she died saving someone’s life on a mission, he had given up finding love. Later, women had occasionally come in and out of his life, but none had really meant anything to him. Although, he thought maybe that had been changing because of the way his new students had made him open up.

He enjoyed being an enigma, obtuse. It’s why he hid behind a mask and his Icha Icha novels. He didn’t want to get to close to people. It was because both of his parents had died early in his life. His father’s suicide had made him a social outcast and a workaholic. Also, his student team had ended tragically with the death of Obito. The sharingan would never be an acceptable substitute for the person who had changed his life, who could have been his best friend. Furthermore, his first group of gennin had all died on missions soon after leaving his care. It hadn’t been his fault, but he still felt responsible. He had refused to take on any new students in a long time. He had only decided to take on Team 7 at the insistence of the Sandaime and because he felt like he owed it to Obito to teach the last of his clan. Sasuke had really annoyed him. Perhaps because they had similar personality types. Somehow, each of his new team had wormed their way into his heart and became like younger siblings to him. Sasuke’s defection had been a terrible blow.

He hoped there was an afterlife, like so many of the civilians believed. He wanted to talk with his father again. Tell him about what had happened since he died. Tell him that he didn't hate him any more, that he understood. Eventually, he would want to know what had happened to his friends and students after he had died.

It was really too bad he was going to die, he desperately wanted to know how the story ends.
